I have had a fantastic weekend, I went hiking both friday and saturday. I love getting out in nature and hike. It gives me such an inner peace. Taking a brake from our everyday busy life is very important for our health and sanity. I love having ‘ME’ time or family time away from the craziness.
We have a tendency to get caught up in work, technology, being busy with stuff all the time. We have become addicted to be connected to the world 24/7. If we forget our phones or the battery dies we feel lost naked not knowing what to do now.
Being so ready and available all the time removes us from thinking, being creative and intuned with ourselves. It also creates lots of different stresses. When taking a brake from our built up reality and getting back to basics, out in nature our body and mind will be renewed, refreshed and relaxed.
Pictures of my friday hike at Will Rogers state park. It was fantastic and when I was at the inspiration point I ran in to 3 older ladies who were nice enough to take my pictures 🙂 One of them is going to visit Stockholm among other countries with some friends next year.
Snack time 🙂 in Westwood after my hike. I walked passed this fruitstand and ofcourse I had to get a bag of fresh fruit. I love it and miss this, we don’t have it in Sweden. Of course I can make my own, but its so nice to just go there and tell the guy what you want and he chop it up for you. I had pinapple, watermelon, mango, jicama, cucumber with some chili, salt and lemon 😀 Then I had to try this kombucha that people are talking about, so I went to Whole Foods and got some that has raspberry and chiaseeds and some seaweed snacks that I also miss.
Saturday I went to Mount Baldy in San Bernadino County with my lovely friends Malachi, Sandra and Jory I had such an awesome time. It was a little hard for me since I’m the unfit one but I made it up 😀 I learnt that I should not carry so much with me it was too heavy LOL. We took the ski lift down that was scary at first since I am terrified of hights. But after a few minutes it was really nice and I could enjoy the view. When we came down Malachi had some fresh coconut in the car and it was very refreshing and delicious to drink one.
I want to do some more hiking I hope I can fit some in 😀 On saturday evening I had dinner with my family away from home to celebrate ‘dads’ birthday. We had some yummy mongolian bbq mmm.
Then sunday I went to church and it was great seeing so many of my friends. I challenged one of my friends from church Brandon Fobbs that we both have to make one painting each by the end of this year. He needed the free creative challenge he likes to draw within the lines 😉 hehehe and I can use one too to get back to my creativity. So we’re on dude 😀
